Our Public Air Is NOT For Sale
If you’ve seen the news, you may have heard that Bath & Body Works partnered with Grand Central Station in NYC to pump their holiday fragrance directly into the station as part of an ad campaign. Yes — actual fragrance being diffused into the air commuters have no choice but to breathe.
At Fontana, we’re not just disappointed — we’re deeply concerned.
Many people live with asthma, allergies, migraines, chemical sensitivities, and respiratory conditions. For them, this isn’t a cute holiday stunt. It’s a health risk. And even for those who don’t react physically, it sets a dangerous precedent: that companies can buy access to the air we all share.
Our public air is not for sale.
We believe scent should always be a personal choice — not something sprayed into a public space to sell products. Transparency matters. Consent matters. Public health matters.
If this concerns you too, here’s what you can do:
-
Share this post to spread awareness.
-
Reach out to your local representatives to question how fragrance diffusion in public spaces is being regulated.
-
Support brands that value clean air, transparency, and consumer safety over gimmicks.
-
Most importantly: sign the petition demanding an end to artificial fragrance diffusion in public spaces. Your voice can help protect public air.
Clean air belongs to ALL of us — and we intend to keep that message loud and clear.
